E sărbătoare la Florii -
Cum n-a mai fost vreodată,
Căci Cel prezis de profeţii,
Azi în Sion se-arată.

Smerit, cu chipul Său senin,
Înconjurat de gloate,
Iisus, călare pe asin,
Coboară spre cetate.

În mâini, cu crengi de palmier,
Îi ies mulţimi în cale;
Răsună al Iudeii cer,
De cânt şi osanale.

Răsună coruri de copii
Mulţimea se tot strânge,
E sărbătoare la Florii,
Dar Împaratul plânge:

Ierusalim, Ierusalim,
Ce mi-ai respins iubirea
Şi darul păcii cel sublim -
Îţi plâng nenorocirea.

Duşmanii vor împrejmui
Tot zidul tău cu schele,
Iar pentru mame şi copii
Veni-vor vremuri grele.

 

Cu lacrimi calde pe obraz
Plângea Ierusalimul ...,
Dar plânsul lui mai scaldă azi
New York-ul si Kremlin-ul.

Văzduhul Terrei e brăzdat -
De undele divine,
Iar orologiile bat
Sfârşitul care vine.

E sărbătoare pe pământ
Şi lupta pentru pace,
Se flutură lozince în vânt,
Dar Prinţul păcii tace.

Azi, nu romani şi nici barbari,
La porţi vin cu ştafeta,
Ci mii de monştrii nucleari -
Ameninţă planeta.

E sărbătoare şi e joc
Şi muzicile cântă,
Dar pace tu nu ai deloc
Şi moartea te-nspăimântă.

El hotărăşte iar o zi
Azi, cât se poate spune,
Pe Prinţul păcii-L poţi primi,
Nu amâna pe mâine!
